It's been over a month since I've written anything. Funny, there hasn't been much to say. I was all about updating before Brazil, but since then I haven't been in the mood. Clearwater isn't really an A race for me. So, why travel across country to do it you ask? Because it will most lkely be my fastest ever Half Ironman, until I find a flatter, faster one to do, or go back. Neither are on my radar at this point in time.
After the 2nd place in the OBRA TT, I raced the Cat 4/5 OBRA Crit Champs and won by a centimeter or less - total photo finish. Since OBRA was cleaning out the closet full of OBRA State Champ Vests, I picked up one of those as well! The long and the short of the race is, I saw an early opp to get off the front and took it. I had on guy bridge and stay with me until the end. He's the one I beat to the finish line. It was fun as the field would get close, then splinter, get close, then splinter.
I made a trip to Penticton, BC to watch the Canadian Ironman. Good times as well. It's such a great venue, I'll do it again one of these years. My coached raced, and raced well until mile 20, had some issues and pulled out. He'll be back.
Other than that, cyclocross is coming! My new bike should be here today! I'll post photos later for all you bike whores out there...
