TT Trainer Session

After a couple of weeks getting back into it, I had a 30min TT on the trainer today. Riding home this morning on the fix was not easy, legs were a little sore and when I tried to push a few spin-ups to 40k pace, wasn't easy. Glad that wasn't the case with the TT. It felt good, once I got past the first 15mins. I remember averaging 310ish last year, so I started out there and see where I would go. 320-330 is were the first 15mins were. I downshifted and brought that up to 350 by 20mins in. Cadence checks were around 85-90 the whole way. With 5 minutes left I bumped to 400 and kept creeping it up until I begin to spin as hard as I could in aero with 15 seconds left hitting 771 watts for a max. I haven't sweat like that in a long time. Good burn during the first part and then legs began to feel heavier but not burn more. With very little fitness and alot of strength right, now I think this is a good result. We'll see what coach says.

Here's what my trainer session "studio" looks like...i think i will bring that projector to the indoor sessions the Ironheads are having on the weekends to play PSII on or other game consoles people want to bring instead of watching a movie. Race bend aero bars are much better to play videos on in aero than the tradiontal bend.

So now what? Well it's just an easy run this afternoon with some other endurance pace bike, swim and runs the remainder of the week.

On Hold with Unemployment Department...

They are experienceing unusually high call volume and wait times... something tells me that is always the case. Oh well, that's what speakerphone is for! I'm trying to figure out if I take a job working 8-12 hours a week for peanuts, will reduce my benefits or not? Does anyone know the answer? I'm trying to accomplish several things by taking this job:
1) Reduce boredom
2) Have something scheduled each week (I do infinitely better when I am "busy" or have a schedule)
3) Make extra cash for a rainy day or a power meter...
4) There are others, but mainly those above...

Ah, finally got through! I can work as much as I want, so long as I don't make more than 1/3 of my weekly benefit or more than 40 hours!

On to the training. Rehab is still progressing, abs/groin are doing better and I'm thinking my abductors are the current problem. They'll get fixed soon.

I had 20 hours on the book this week, but I was helping my father build another fence on Monday and Tuesday so workouts were not all completed. It's really cold and it snowed on me today coming back from Beaverton through the west hills. Needed 3.5 hours, got less then that.

In the coming weeks things pickup and I'm stoked for it! Next week's money workout is just 3.5 ride on saturday. The following week's cash money workout is a TT on the trainer to guage HR, Watts and perception. Should be good times.

Diet...could be worse. Eating lots of chicken, rice, egg whites, coffee, quinoa, raisens, nuts clusters... Will be eating less ice cream, beer, coffee, espresso martinis, chocolate unless 70% cocoa or more, refined sugar... It'snot like I am fat ass or anything, weighed in at 177 yesterday afternoon at 24 hour, so it's really about eating healthier, which it has always been about. The weight will come and go this time of year, shit, it keeps you warm in 30 degree weather! Fat is cheaper than the $200+ cold weather tights you just bought (or i just bought, but whatever).

Peace Out!
